Bibliography, Sources, and Helps
Overview
The bibliography consists of key references in the background work for this curriculum and the original study from which the curriculum was derived. They are usually available through Creation Ministries International and some sister ministries. The first two sources that are listed may be especially useful for readers because they are downloadable on the creation.com web site without charge. The use of the web site is also free and highly recommended because the search window is very useful. Research notes in the text are keyed, in part, for use in the site’s search window.
Primary Written Sources
CBP = Creation Book Publishers, a division of Creation Ministries International in the US.
1. The Creation Answers Book, Batten, D., Ed., CBP, 2009.
Detailed answers and explanations to the most-asked questions (60 in 20 categories) including those about dinosaurs, carbon dating, ice age, continental drift, Cain’s wife, the origin of races, and more.
2. Refuting Evolution, Sarfati, J., CBP, 2012
A concise, hard-hitting handbook outlining the powerful scientific case against evolution and long ages.
3. Refuting Compromise, Sarfati, J., CBP, 2011
The most comprehensive and effective scientific and theological defense of straightforward Genesis in existence. Systematically and thoroughly refutes progressive creation, framework hypothesis, gap theory, theistic evolution.
4. 15 Reasons To Take Genesis As History, Batten, D. and J. Sarfati, CBP, 2013
Not just the Apostle Paul and the other NT writers, but the Lord Jesus Himself always dealt with Genesis as straightforward history. A compact but powerful booklet for the Christian who claims to hold to the Bible’s authority but is shaky about the Gospel’s logical foundations in Genesis.
5. Exploring Geology with Mr Hibb, Exploring Dinosaurs with Mr Hibb; Oard, M., CBP, 2012
These two books by Oard, et al., are for all ages and use a cartoon character to help explain the features of the Earth we see around us in relation to the Genesis Flood.
6. Wonders of Creation (nine-book set by Master Books), various authors, 1997
A series of colorful and informative books for all ages that cover many aspects of earth from a biblical creation view.
7. The Young Earth, Morris, J., Institute for Creation Research, 2007
Beautifully presented evidence from geology for a young earth and the catastrophic work of the biblical Flood.
8. Dismantling the Big Bang, Williams, A., and J. Hartnett, Master Books, 2005
A semi-technical discussion of the problems with this popular but anti-biblical theory of how the universe allegedly created itself.
9. Starlight, Time and the New Physics, Hartnett, J., CBP, 2007
A research physics professor at a secular Australian university, Dr Hartnett outlines a model that shows a possible solution to how light could have reached us from the most distant galaxy in only days after the first day of creation week.
10. Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection, Bates, G., CBP, 2010
A highly readable, well-researched and balanced account of the widespread ‘alien/UFO’ phenomenon and its connection to evolutionary thinking
11. Dinosaur Challenges and Mysteries: Oard, M, CBP, 2011
An excellent book for young adults on how the Genesis Flood makes sense of dinosaur evidence that has been discovered in the last few decades.
12. Evolution’s Achilles Heels, Batten, D et al, CBP, 2014
This book shows the failures of the evolutionary theory in light of modern operational science and historical findings. Chapters are comprised of excellent presentations from 9 Ph.D. scientists. The book has since been made into a movie by the same name.
13. One Human Family, Wieland, C, CBP, 2011
The author takes on a big topic: we are all from the same ‘race’ that was created by God. In the process, he deals with the terrible results of evolutionary thinking, which has enhanced racial thinking. He takes on cultural and ethnic issues from a biblical point of view that have been affected by thinking outside the Bible.
14. Taking Back Astronomy, Lisle, J.; Master Books, 2006
Lisle provides a very readable text without sacrificing the basic view of astronomy from a biblical standpoint. He contrasts this view with the naturalistic view that suggests that everything came about in the heavens through an undirected, God-deleted context.
Creation.com (online source and information)
On this site, make note of the prominent search window. Research notes that are referenced in the study can be entered directly as quoted to obtain pertinent articles. It is a very flexible tool. Many glossary terms that are scientific in context can be entered as search terms. Biblical terms pertaining to creation can also be used as search terms. One can also use the drop-down menus at the top of the site to search articles by subject area.
There is a procedure, after research on the site has been done, to submit questions to specialists. Turn-around time can be slow but they generally are able to respond.
